We decided to pick option TWO and got our creative juices flowing. Below you will find some easy DIY ideas that can be put together in no time, because with little ones and an overflowing to-do list, who has much time for one project? I sure don't. We got to work on our projects, all four took about an hour to create and assemble.
First idea - Character Photo
Total Cost $5.61 for 12
- Took a photo of my daughter dressed in her Poppy by DreamWorks Trolls costume (which I think I paid less than $5.99 for at the Target after Halloween clearance event. It was 75% off).
- Printed photo at Walgreens online (I wanted them in matte and 4 x 5.3). I found a coupon on RetailMeNot so they came out to approx. 33cents each including the shipping.
- Tattoos purchased at Party City, pack of 8 for .99cents.
- Found the adhesive heart tape in the Bulleye's Playground in our local Target for .99cents.
- Cut around each tattoo to make them smaller, used a small knife to make slits by her hand to slip through the tattoo and secured it with the tape. I completed the 12 in less than 10 minutes.

Second idea - Crayons
Total Cost $6.00 for 12
- Purchased pack of 8 crayon sets from Amazon.
- Created and printed label and glued them to each crayon box.
The next two ideas are a collaboration with a small shop, The Ever Co. If you are not familiar with this shop go view their Instagram page: @theeverco or theeverco.co/shop, they offer the cutest things for all things celebration. For Valentines Day they are offering printable templates for $2.99 each. Let me tell you they have some adorable designs, that are unisex and or more geared towards either gender. The steps are so simple to make these.
Purchase. Download the PDF. Print on heavy cardstock. Attach what you would like to them.

Fairy Valentines
- All materials were purchased from Joann craft store. This store accepts all competitor coupons, I used their coupons plus others I found from Hobby Lobby, Michaels and one other local store.
- 50 sheets of heavy cardstock for $2.00
- Pocket pouches (for glitter) $1.74
- Tinkerbell stickers $2.79
- Glitter .59cents
- Clothespins (pack of 25) $1.49
- I already had the gold glitter adhesive tape
- I printed the pdf template, cut the cardstock (each page makes four valentines), and assembled my props onto the cardstock. Super duper simple and it looks neat and is different than a store bought valentine.
