A room for our sweet ballerina girl.

It's a change going from an all familiar baby nursery to an all in "big girl" room, but we decided to just go for it and start from scratch. I'll start by rewinding back a few months... we moved almost everything out of Caroline's room with exception to a few items. Lots of hours of research on the perfect room and items to go in it were spent, I didn't want to settle and had a vision. Now, here we are lots of pink and the perfect room to grow in for my littlest Caroline.

Where I began? I always loved the Jenny Lind style bed as a transitional bed and began by looking at the variety of this style from brand to brand, plus reading lots of customer reviews, etc. I knew this wasn't going to be a forever bed as we are planning on moving in the next year or so and the girls will share a room with their dream Pottery Barn Kids bunk bed setup, that's the goal/plan for now at least.
Once the bed had been ordered and mattress arrived from Linenspa, it was time to get moving. Next came the wallpaper, some special décor and then lots of trips to various Homegoods in my area.
My advice, might you ask. Have a starting point, then play off of that as the focal point. For me, it was the bed and accent color pink with classic/timeless pieces.

 Details:
  • Ballerina Décor - gifted to us from Over the Moon Gift; the ballerina pillow was hand stitched (just need to add a monogram in the middle), and the prints on the wall came in a set of three. I got the matted frames from HomeGoods for $9.99 each. If you are ever in need of a unique baby shower gift or something special check out this sweet shop, they have such darling items.
  • Bed/Bedding - Linenspa mattress (seriously so darn cozy, I love having sleepovers in here with my littlest) // Sheet set is from The Beaufort Bonnet Company, Belle Meade Bow // Bed is from Amazon, its the Monarch Hill Wren Bed (under $250 for a full). I'll share her duvet cover once it finally arrives, its on backorder until November.
  • Bookshelf - also Pottery Barn Kids, currently sold out (from a few years back)
  • Mirrored Crown Mirror - Pottery Barn Kids
  • Misc. Items - end table, swan lamp, unicorn basket and unicorn bank are all from HomeGoods.
  • Rugs - cloud and star are both machine washable, which is awesome is a children's room, by Kroma Carpets
  • Wallpaper - peel and stick adhesive from Wallpaperie. I chose the light pink buffalo check print, and love the way it looks. If you were following along a few weeks back I added some highlights of the installation process. It took me a little over an hour to complete this accent wall, installed four panels.
That's all for now, at least its a start. I still have some more I want to add to the room... a white sheet to cover the box spring, a hanging chair near her book nook and dollhouse with table/chairs.
