One of my favorite creatures of the sea is the sea turtle, I have always found them fascinating and want to help their conservation in the ocean. A few years back, on our way home from the Florida Keys we stopped in Palm Beach Gardens for a bite to eat and stumbled upon Loggerhead Marinelife Center, a nonprofit organization helping ocean & sea turtle conservation alike.
I would say we visit the sea turtles at least twice a year, if not more. On our most recent visit to Palm Beach, I scheduled a tour for myself, my girls and a few others. I highly recommend doing so if you would like to learn more, it was an eye opener for me. Within the first minutes of the tour we learned that at the most recent two hour beach cleanup they collected 66 lbs. of marine debris. While visiting you can explore an indoor exhibit hall, browse the outdoor rehabilitation tanks, and much much more. If your local to the Palm Beaches Florida area take a look at the Summer Experiences they offer, some really neat things to checkout.
Lastly, if you would like to get involved you can adopt a sea turtle, help in the next beach cleanup on May 18th, more information here, or volunteer your time (see requirements). Be sure to give them a follow on Facebook or Instagram, for updated information on current patients, news and when a public sea turtle release will take place.
We learned they will be expanding and we couldn't be happier for this new chapter for them. Look forward to going back and giving y'all an update next Summer.
