As a mother I want what's best for my girls in life and to follow their dreams. The girls have grown so much in this last year, and ever since they got a splash of makeup for their recitals they ask on special occasions to experiment with my grown-up makeup. In between lots of cracked eye-shadow palettes, smudged foundation across the counter and lip gloss smeared all over its tube it was time to say "sorry girls, this is Mommy's grown-up makeup!"
I want them to pretend play, and if adding some bright eye-shadows or blush while playing makes them feel special then so be it. But what would it be? So many children's pretend play sets stain, are full of toxins and just down right yucky; something I did not want for my girls.
After giving up on my search, I was contacted by Petite 'n Pretty, a makeup brand for young creatives. The products are cruelty, paraben, talc, gluten, nut and phthalate free.
