Festive Chocolate Chip Pudding Cookies

I love a traditional chocolate chip cookie, mixed with a festive look and soft texture. I am not a crispy cookie lover by any means, if you are no hard feelings but this recipe is not for you. This cookie is a favorite in our house, and can work for almost any holiday with coordinating colored M&M's. I hope your loved ones beg you to make them, like mine do. My oldest now helps me with this recipe, its been our newest holiday tradition starting back this past Christmas. I hope you make memories in the kitchen and fill some happy people with this delightful cookie.
Ingredients:
1 stick softened unsalted butter (do not melt)
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 large egg
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
1.5 cups of unbleached all-purpose flour
3 tbs. instant vanilla pudding mix
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup dark chocolate chips
1 cup M&M's
Instructions:
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
2. Cream the butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar together with an electric mixer on medium speed.
3. Add in egg and vanilla extract.
4. In a mixing bowl sift together flour, baking soda, salt and vanilla pudding mix.
5. Add dry ingredients into the bowl of creamed ingredients and mix on medium speed until dough forms and is mixed together.
6. Stir in chocolate chips and M&M's with a spatula.
7. Scoop a spoonful of dough, roll into a ball and place on cookie sheet.
8. Bake for 10 minutes.

Tips: Do not over bake, I switch the top cookie sheet with the bottom 1/2 way into baking to keep the tops/bottoms even.
Recipe usually makes 24 cookies, depending on size.
