Bibbidi Bobbidi.. Disney opens this week.

Can you believe that... Walt Disney World is finally reopening it's gates this week? As an annual pass holder we frequented to the parks at least once a week prior to the pandemic. As much as I would love to go to the reopening, in my heart I feel it is best for us to sit back for a while as they work out all the new restrictions and new normal. So to celebrate I put together some magic at home for the girls and you can too.
DIY Glass Slipper/Crown/Cinderella's Carriage Wands
Materials Needed:
Glitter Felt Sheets
Floss Thread
Embroidery Needle
Wooden Dowels
Misc. Ribbon (for wands)
Poly stuffing (from a craft store)
Tacky Glue
Sequins/Glitter
Hot Glue Gun and Glue Sticks
Hint: I free hand drew the outline stencils onto my felt with permanent marker from looking at an image, you can also trace a cookie cutter.
Instructions:
  1. Cut out your first outline (carriage, glass slipper or crown)
  2. Place the first cutout onto another piece of felt for an exact duplicate (this will be your front/back pieces of wand).
  3. Start to stitch the pieces together, if you search on web there are many examples of different types of stiches. I decided to use top/bottom or over/under. Keep in mind you want to pull the needle through the top and the floss all the way through and knot the bottom to keep intact.
  4. Begin the stitching in the corner and work clockwise from bottom to top, left to right.
  5. Once you get to the bottom middle you can hot glue the dowel and stick it onto the inner back piece of felt.
  6. Start stuffing areas of the pillow wand as you stitch and give yourself room near the end to add in the remainder.
  7. Stitch closed and you are done.
  8. Add ribbons to the dowel
  9. Using tacky glue add desired sequins and glitter to front.
Cinderella inspired Mouse Ears Ice Cream
Materials Needed:
1 package Disney Mickey Mouse Ice Cream Bars
Sprinkles
  1. Melt chocolate wafers, in 30 second intervals at 50% power, stir.
  2. Melt wafers again in 15 second intervals at 50% power until melted (hint: you do not want the chocolate to get hot)
  3. Line mouse ear ice cream onto wax paper, then place on cookie sheet
  4. Dip or pour melted chocolate onto ears
  5. Sprinkle as desired
  6. Place back in freezer for 5-10 minutes
Photo Backdrop Garland
Materials Needed:
2 packages of plastic table cloth
Various ribbon
Long metal strip or whatever you will use to attach the strips to for garland
  1. Cut tablecloth into 2 inch strips.
  2. I layer each strip with two pieces for a thicker look.
  3. Tie on to your holder/frame/pole by making a knot at the top.
  4. Keep going until you have a width and length that you want.
  5. Add ribbons for a fancier look in between and at the end.
  6. Hang strip on wall with gorilla glue tape or what you prefer to use.
Tutus were gifted from our friends at iloveplum and are perfect for any occasion, they make any activity a tad fancier. We have a closet full and love them all the same.
